Cora Delories Barnes, a 101 year old Trenton, MO resident, passed away at 9:15 p.m., Wednesday, February 09, 2011 at Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton. Cora resided in her own home until December 23, 2010, at which time she moved to Sunnyview Nursing Home.

Graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Resthaven Memorial Gardens of Trenton. Open visitation will begin after noon on Monday at the Resthaven Mortuary. Memorial donations may be left to Meals on Wheels or Home Health Services. These may be left at or mailed to the Resthaven Mortuary at P.O.Box 587, Trenton, MO 64683.

Cora Barnes was born July 30, 1909 to George and Mabel Decker McDaniel in St. Charles, IA. In November 1939 she was united in marriage to Chick Edwards. They operated airports in Bethany and Grant City as well as owning a tavern in Bethany. He preceded her in death due to a racing accident in 1957. In September 1960 she remarried to Lloyd Lee "Tub" Barnes. They operated a gas and grocery store in Edinburg and then later Barnes Auto Wrecking. Tub also preceded her in death in 1998.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #641 at Harlingen, TX.

She is survived by two step sons and eight nieces and nephews.

Those preceding her in death include her parents, husbands, a brother Carl, two sisters, Leota and Garnetta, a step brother Richard and a step son Jack Barnes.
