Vannace Peck, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Peck of near the state line, died Monday following an operation for appendicitis. Vannace, who was approaching six years of age, was taken ill less than two weeks prior to her death. She was an unusually bright and cheerful child. Her untimely end is a severe blow to the bereaved parents, who have the sympathy in their sorrow of a wide circle of relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at the home by Rev. C. B. Smith of the local Church of the Brethren. Interment was made in the Morrill cemetery. --The Morrill Weekly News, Thursday, May 11, 1916
