Robert R. Hoover August 10, 1944 -September 28, 2012 Robert R. Hoover, 68, of Sandy Ridge, died Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College. Born Aug. 10, 1944, in Philipsburg, he was the son of the late Donald and Mabel (Brocail) Hoover. On Sept. 10, 1966, in Sandy Ridge, he married Jolie D. (Kyler) Hoover, who survives. He was a 1962 graduate of Philipsburg Osceola High School. He also graduated from Penn State University in 1966 as a civil engineer. He was employed and retired, after working for Gwin Engineers and HRI Inc. for 43 years combined. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Sandy Ridge. Surviving are a daughter, Michelle J. Moore and her husband, William D. Moore, of Sandy Ridge; a son, Scott C. Hoover and his wife, Rusty A. Hoover, of Osceola Mills; four grandchildren, McKenzie C. Moore, Parker E. Moore, Cole A. Hoover and Seth C. Hoover; three brothers, Ronald Hoover, of Osceola Mills, Terry Hoover and his wife Gail Hoover, of State College, and Charles Hoover and his wife, Darlene Hoover, of New Liberty; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, at the Heath Funeral Home, Osceola Mills. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home, with Pastor Mark Thuma officiating. Burial will be in Umbria Cemetery, Osceola Mills.
