Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 29, 1998, at Holy Family Convent Chapel. Rev. Samuel D. Jadin, O.Praem will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial at Holy Family Convent Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The former Mary Dorothy Hamrock was born February 1, 1907, in Latrobe, Pa., daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Kovalan Hamrock. She entered the Convent in 1922 and professed her vows in 1925. Sister Arilda earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Holy Family College, Manitowoc. She served as an elementary teacher at St. Boniface, Manitowoc, St. Joseph, Sturgeon Bay, St. Joseph, Rice Lake, Immaculate Conception, West De Pere, St. Philip & St. Bernard, Green Bay, St. Anna, New Holstein, St. Anthony, Neopit, St. John the Baptist, Plymouth, St. Therese, Appleton, St. Mary, Waukesha, St. Francis de Sale, Manistique, Mich., Immaculate Conception, Yuma, Ariz., St. Sylvester, Woodsfield, SS Peter and Paul, Wellston, Ohio, and Sacred Heart, Ayrshire, Iowa. After her retirement from the teaching profession, she helped in the library at St. Benedict, Cambridge, Ohio and served as sacristan and helper in the Craft Room at the Motherhouse. She is a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity.
Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; three sisters, Helen Fuldauer, Parma, Ohio, Sister Elizabeth Hamrock, OSF and Sister Clarice Hamrock, OSF, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 1998 at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. at Holy Family Convent Chapel.
