(UNION HILL) Kathryn Knight Childers, 76, of Union Hill died Monday, Sept. 11, 2000, at her residence.
Services will be at Pleasant Grove Christian Church at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 13, with interment in the church cemetery. The Rev. Barry Brooks and the Rev. Floyd Carmack will officiate.
Survivors include two sisters, Mary Austin of Union Hill and Pearline Burton of Camp Hill; and one brother, Leroy Knight of Lanett.
Mrs. Childers was a native of Chambers County, born Oct. 14, 1923. She was a retired school teacher, having taught 39 years at Milltown School and two years at Shawmut.
She was a member of the Chambers County Retired Teachers Association, Delta Kappa Gamma, American Legion Auxiliary, Inter Se Club of Wadley, Chambers County Farmers Federation, Union Hill Community Club, Union Hill Homemakers Club and Pleasant Grove Christian Church.
Pallbearers will be James Burton, Wilson Burton, Mark Gillenwaters, Brandon Sanders, Scott Sparks, Ken Harmon, Charles Austin and Woody Harmon.
Arrangements are by Jeff Jones Funeral Home, LaFayette.
