He served in the United States Army from 1942-1946 in England, France, Scotland, Austria and Germany constructing runways for the WWII Aircraft. His life long passion was his love for the Model T and Model A hobby. He knew them well and everything about them. He was a wealth of information and had an amazing memory. He was called a walking Model A manual. He purchased his first Model T in 1937 at the age of 14 for $7.50. After his military duty, he purchased his first, "strip down" Model A. He built and sold several Model T's from scrap parts. He was a founding member of the Cedar Creek Model A Ford Club and served as tour director with his special Model A friend, O. V. Cliver. He was a member of the Model T Ford Club of America and the Model A Ford Club of America. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and good Model T friend, Dale Hill, as well as many friends and of the Greater Houston Model A Restorer Club. The family would also like to thank the VNA/Hospice of Kaufman for such great care and dedicated employees who took excellent care of him.
He passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2014 on what would have been his mothers 114th birthday.
Memorial service is, Saturday, January 10, 2015 in Moorhead Epps Funeral Home Chapel, at 11:00 A.M.
