Obituary for Charlotte Goeken
Charlotte Jeanne Goeken, 95, of Bloomfield, Iowa passed away on February 4, 2022 at Vista Woods Care Center in Ottumwa, Iowa. She was born on March 25, 1926 in McLean, Illinois to Elmer and Alice Noble Lucas. She grew up in the Delavan, Illinois area and graduated from Delavan High School. On November 16, 1944 she married Richard Goeken in Palmyra, Missouri. The couple lived in Delavan until they moved to a farm just east of Bloomfield, Iowa in 1970.

Charlotte worked in the dietary department at the Davis County Hospital (Bloomfield) for four years before working at the Davis County Middle School as a cook for almost 15 years. She enjoyed her work but family was the focus of her life and she loved spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved to quilt and made many for her family over the years. Charlotte also enjoyed gardening, feeding the birds, and traveling. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church attending in both Delavan and Bloomfield. Charlotte was also active in the Quilters Guild in Bloomfield and Mother's Club in Troy, Iowa.

She is survived by four children, Darrell (Chungie) Goeken of Davenport, Iowa, Sylvia (Bill) Stockham of Green Valley, Illinois, LuAnn (Nick) Morton of Pulaski, Iowa, Barb (Randy) Lawson of Bloomfield; twelve grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard, on August 12, 1992; two sons, Bruce Goeken, Keith Goeken; great-grandson, Wesley Goeken; brother-and-sister-in-law, Bill and Eva Goeken; and two infant brothers.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev Donna Olinger officiating. Visitation will begin at noon on Tuesday with the family present to greet friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.

Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at the Prairie Rest Cemetery in Delavan, Illinois.
