Many friends in this community will sympathize with Mr. and Mrs. Tim. Slattery, recent residents here but now living at Waterville, where Mr. Slattery is managing the Farmer's Elevator. This week's Waterville Advance gives the following account of the death of their little son:
"A very distressing accident occurred at Alderman Mills' corner on Friday afternoon. The street was packed with people to see the aeroplane and parachute jump. Victor Burns, barber for Oscar Finke, drove up the street and into a bunch of children at play. Timmie, litle son of Mr. and Mrs. T. F. Slattery, was so badly injured that he died on the way to the Faribault hospital. He was first taken to Dr. Holtan's office. After rendering first aid the doctor started with him for Faribault for an X-Ray examination, but the little fellow died on the way.
"The little victim was about eight years of age, and was in the public school. He was a bright and wonderfully fine little boy and his tragic death is a terrible blow to his parents and friends and casts a general gloom of sorrow over the entire community. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon from the Catholic church and the interment was made in the Iosco cemetery.
"Timmy was born October 15, 1915. He leaves to mourn his loss his parents, seven sisters and one brother, Frances, Viola, Genvieve, Helen, Dorothy, Ione, LaPearl and Donald."
