Services for L. J. Baker, 65, of 821 Douglas Ave., president of the L.J. Baker Specialty Co., will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Westover Funeral Home.


Mr. Baker, who died of a cerebral hemorrhage Wednesday, was born in Otley. He was reared in Des Moines and attended the former West High School and Drake University. He established his firm here in 1946. Previously he was with C.E. Erickson Co. for 26 years. He was an executive director of the Advertising Specialties National Association. He was a member of the Izaak Walton League, a past president of the Za-Ga-Zig Arab Patrol, and a member of the Royal Order of Jester, the Des Moines Consistory, and the Highland Park Presbyterian Church.


Surviving are his wife, Eva P.; two children, Donald J. and Bonnie Mae, and two grandchildren, all of Des Moines. Pallbearers will be Les Davis, George Chastain, Glen Passick, Scott Hook, Doyle LeCocq and Keith Barrett.


The family has requested that any memorials be made to the Shriner''s Crippled Childrens Fund.
