MRS. ADA SCHMIDT
Mrs. Ada Laverne Schmidt, 91, of 2905 E. Red River, resident of Victoria most of her life, died at 6:40 p.m. Sunday in Columbus, Texas, following a sudden illness.
She was born May 7, 1889 in Columbus, Kan., and was the daughter of the late Joseph H. and Edna Merton Rhoades Thompson. Her husband, Robert C. Schmidt Sr., died Dec. 20, 1950.
Mrs. Schmidt, a member of Christ the Victor Lutheran Church.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Christ the Victor Lutheran Church with the Rev. Harold Pearson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
The body will lie in state at Colonial Funeral home until 12:30 p.m. Wednesday when it will be taken to the church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Bernice Nagle of Houston and Mrs. Caroll Hand of Clarksville, Tenn.; two sons, R. C. Schmidt Jr. of Victoria and Merle A. Schmidt of Spring; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Tedlock and Mrs. Nellie Hamlin, both of Columbus, Kan.; a brother, A. R. Thompson Sr. of Six Lakes, Fla.; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

The body will lie in state at the Colonial Funeral Home until 12:30 p.m. Wednesday when it will be taken to the church for services.
Pallbearers will be Harvey Hillin, Rodney Esterak, Bill Johnosn, Glen Hand, Robert Wilburn, and Dennis Schmidt.
