Rebecca Dunham is a descendant of the Mayflower Pilgrims, Edward Fuller and his wife, Ann, through their son, Samuel, who also traveled to America on the Mayflower in 1620 at the age of 5 years. During the first winter Edward and Ann Fuller passed away from the illness which swept through the Plymouth settlement. Samuel was raised by his Uncle Samuel Fuller, who was a doctor.

Rebecca is the daughter of Mordecai Dunham, Sr and Margaret Van Garden.

Mordecai Dunham, Sr was born in 1762 in New Jersey. He was in Georges Twp., Fayette Co., PA Census in 1800 and 1810. He lived in Jackson County, Ohio as early as 1830 census and died in April 1850 in Milton, Jackson County, Ohio. Margaret Van Garden Dunham d. before 1840 in Jackson Co., OH.
