Frances "Granny" Roberts Lyons, 84, Hidden Timbers Drive, Elizabethton, died Sunday, December 5, 2004, at Hillview Health Center.

A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Coon and Maggie Moffitt Roberts.

Mrs. Lyons was formerly employed at the Magnavox Company and as a cook at Happy Valley Elementary School. She was of the Free Will Baptist faith.
Mrs. Lyons was preceded in death by her husband, Basil Lyons, in 1992; a son, Roger Lyons; a daughter, Shelby Hyder; two granddaughters, Amy Lyons and Sherry Curtis; a great-grandson, Rodney Spangler; two sons-in-law, Al
Brookman and Stanley Hyder; three sisters, Nola Roberts, Stella Ellison and
Rosie Holder; two brothers, Fred Roberts and Arnold Roberts; and a daughter-
in-law, Rose Lyons.

Survivors include a son, Billy Lyons, Elizabethton; a daughter, Geraldean
Brookman, Christiansburg, Va.; two brothers, Ike Roberts and John "Lauren"
Roberts, both of Elizabethton; and a daughter-in-law, Nadine Lyons Graybeal,
Elizabethton. Twelve grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, one great-great
grandchild and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 7, at Memorial
Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Allen Simerly and the Rev. Arnold Hensley
officiating. Music will be provided by Shon Blevins, Becky McKeehan and
Jackie Cornett. Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m.
Wednesday, December 8, in the Lyons Chapel Cemetery.
