Former Hayesville Man Succumbs At Home In Wood Street

George W. Bell, 75, former resident of Hayesville, died at the family home, 66 Wood Street, at 10 a.m. Sunday following a lingering illness.

Mr. Bell was born in Hayesville on July 12, 1857, coming to Mansfield more than 30 years ago. He was associated with the Aultman-Taylor Co. later with Westinghouse Electric & Manufacturing Co., retiring three years ago. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America and the First Methodist Episcopal church.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Minnie Craig Bell; one daughter, Mrs. Thomas Kerr, Ashland and six grandchildren. Seven sisters, Miss Sadie Bell, Mrs. Frank Harper and Mrs. Henry Hespenheide, Pittsburgh, Pa., Mrs. Urban Maffett [Moffett], Springfield, Mrs. Mortin Eggner [Martin Egner], Shelby and Mrs. Curtis Glass, Hayesville, also survive. Mr. Bell was the youngest son born to the late John and Ellen McCrory Bell, pioneer residents of Hayesville.

Funeral services will be held at the Finefrock funeral home at 2 p.m. Wednesday conducted by Rev. Dr. S. B. Salmon. Burial will be made in the Hayesville cemetery. Friends may call at the late home, 66 Wood street, until noon Wednesday.
