Family Lore most often related by Rev. Albert Phillip Jones, brother of Newman Gurley Jones.
Both were sons of Maggie Belle Patterson Jones and Philip Jackson Jones and their Grandparents were Markem Schuyler (Malcomb) Patterson (1870-1953) and Sue Emma King Patterson (1874-1955). All are buried in Crab Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. M.S. Patterson is buried in Row 23 and Susan Emma "Sue Emma" King is buried in Row 16. According to Albert, they are buried in separate rows because M.S. Patterson instructed the family, "Don't bury me beside her. I've spent most of my life beside her and don't want to be there for eternity!"
