News has been received in the death in Norfolk yesterday of Mrs. Mildred Hemingway Richardson, wife of Rear Admiral Clifford Geer Richardson, former chief of staff and assistant commandant of the Charleston Naval Base.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the Oliver Funeral Home, Norfolk.
Admiral and Mrs. Richardson left Charleston last June, when he was retired after 38 years in the Navy. He had been stationed in Charleston since July, 1945.
Admiral Richardson was graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1915. He was a veteran of World War I and World War II and took part on the landings on North Africa as well as the Pacific campaigns.
While in Charleston he was much in demand as a speaker before local organizations.
