Ian Michael McFate, of Toledo, Iowa, was 13 years old. He passed away October 2, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines due to injuries sustained in a vehicle versus pedestrian accident.

Ian was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Toledo. He was an 8th grader at the South Tama Middle School where he was active in band, chorus, and cross country. Ian played STC Rec tennis, golf and soccer. He was a member of the American Taekwondo Association in Toledo.

Ian was very much looking forward to attending high school and participating in the various activities.

Preceding him in death were his paternal grandparents, Delmar and Edna Mae (Mikkelson) McFate.

Funeral Services were held on October 8, 2012 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, followed by burial at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama, Iowa.

Ian was born on May 6, 1999, in Overland Park, KS, the son of Mark and Christine (McCune) McFate. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Toledo.
