PEARL CITY -- Mrs. Charles Althoff of rural Mount Carroll died early this morning in a Freeport hospital after a long illness.
She was born Sept. 24, 1872, in Jefferson Township, Stephenson County, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Myers. She was married to Charles Althoff who preceded her in death.
They farmed in the Loran area their entire married life. Mrs. Althoff was a member of Church of God, Mount Carroll.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Franz (Mabel) Nowak and Mrs. Walter (Pearl) Schubert, both of Pearl City, Mrs. Joseph (Lillian) Willson of Mount Carroll, and Mrs. Lloyd (Bessie) Brunner of Stockton; one son, Henry of Mount Carroll; 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Offenheiser Funeral Home, Pearl City. Burial will be in Loran Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Friday.
