Sam Pendleton married Josephine Hall in Wheelersburg, Ky, when Josephine was about 16/17 years old and Sam was about 22/23. After (4) children (Ethel, James, Alfred and Bill) they followed the Pendleton relatives, probably by train, to Cincinnati, Oh. Their daughter Ethel attended Kinder garden in Cincinnati. Told by Ethel. Sam was able to get a job with the Ford Company and then went to work for Chevelott. He made good money and then the 1929 depression hit and everything closed and people were starving. Sam picked up his family in the car he owned and moved to Portsmouth looking for work. He had family living there. Jim Pendleton, an attorney. Sam also had family in West Virginia and worked there for a while. Some of his relatives in West Virginia were Doctors.
Sam finally ending up out in the country from Wakefield, Oh. He did farming and at the end owned a Saw & Lumber Company. Sam's own family died from diptheory when he was about 14 yrs old, in Ky around 1918. Sam served in the army during WWI.
