Mary was killed in an automobile accident in Boise, Idaho when she was 63 years old.

Thirty Years Ago: March 2, 1920
Mrs. Mary E. Cooper was born in Iowa county, Iowa, April 9, 1856 and died in Boise, Idaho, March 1, 1920, where she met her death thru an automobile accident. She was graduated from the academy at an early date after which she spent some time in the profession of teaching. In the year 1875 she was united in marriage to Morris I. Cooper, and to this union four children were born. For the past ten years, since the death of her husband, she has made her home with her sister, Mrs. Esther Rose of Boise. She leaves to mourn her loss her two daughters, Mrs. Homer West, Mrs. Albin Engleen, and her son, Dr. T. C. Cooper.
