RESIDENT OF CITY FOR 47 YEARS PASSES AWAY
Max Lowenstein, Retired Merchant, Dies at Home of His Sister - Burial Today
Max Lowenstein, formerly one of the well known merchants of Los Angeles and one of the pioneer residents, died at the home of his sister, Mrs. R. Green, 1256 Magnolia avenue, yesterday morning.
Mr. Lowenstein was 66 years old and a native of Prussia. He came to Los Angeles forty-seven years ago, when the city was but a pueblo. Mr. Lowenstein engaged in business, which grew to large proportions. He retired from active business pursuits several years ago.
He is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Green and Mrs. L. Kirschbraun of Los Angeles, Mrs. L. C. Kirschbraun of Omaha, Neb., and Mrs. E. Lowenstein of Downs, Kans.
Funeral services will be held this morning at 10 o'clock at the residence of Mrs. Green. Interment will be in the Home of Peace cemetery.
