David C. Murphy, 77, departed this life Friday, September 28, 2012 in Washington D.C. Born in Nelson County, June 7, 1935, he was a son of the late Edward and Eunice Morse Murphy. He is survived by his beloved wife, Nidia; 3 daughters, Julie, Laurie and Cindy (Charles Lancaster); 3 sons, David, Jr., Jeffrey and Christopher; a brother, Fred Murphy; 4 sisters, Shirley Logan, Madeline Rose, Earlene Thompson (Chester), and Mary J. Ross of Arrington. A funeral service will be conducted 12 p.m. Sunday, October 7, 2012 at Byrum-Parr Funeral Home by Rev. Robert L. Meredith. Burial will follow in Little Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The body will lie in state from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the funeral home.
