Charles H. Babbitt, 59, of 252 High Street, died Saturday in an out-of-town hospital after a long illness.
Born here, son of the late Charles Herbert Babbitt and the late Augusta (Cooper) Babbitt, he had lived for a time in Assonet and Waltham. He was employed as a salesman for the Walter Smith Dairy in Waltham. He was also a U.S. Army veteran of World War I.
He leaves one son, Charles A., and one daughter, Isabelle; two brothers, Herbert W. Babbitt of Middleboro, and Chester I. Babbitt of Morrisville, Vt.; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Fleck of Taunton, and Miss Lillian M. Babbitt of this city; several grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 at the Hathaway Home for Funerals, 1813 Robeson Street.
Interment will be in Assonet Burying Ground.
