Norma Jean Reece 78 of Midland, Texas passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 02, 2012. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home on Friday October 05, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday October 06, 2012 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel. A private graveside service will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Norma was born on September 05, 1934 to Vernie and Velma Horner in San Angelo, Texas. She married the love of her life on June 04, 1949 in Coleman, Texas. Norma was a loving and devoted wife of 63 years the best Mom in the world as well as a loving Grandmother and great Grandmother. She enjoyed teaching piano and voice for many years and was a member of The Music Teachers Association.

Norma was an excellent cook and won many awards for "the best pecan pie in Texas" during her many years as a member of The West Texas Pecan Association. Norma's biggest hobby was gardening. She had a green thumb and enjoyed watching God's nature at work. She would sit for hours watching the hummingbirds and marvel at the wonder of it all. She was an amazing woman that strived to look at only the positive in each and every circumstance. On any given day if you asked her how she is doing her response was one simple word "PERFECT". Such a gentle and loving person that loved not only her family but also her life long friends. She had a servant's heart and loved being able to help for many years with The Cerebral Palsy Center hosting an annual fishing BBQ event with her loving husband at "Reece's Pond".

Norma invited Jesus Christ into her heart at the age of 12 years old and walked with him daily until her passing. She did not only talk the talk but walked out her faith everyday. When she became ill she was unable to attend church so her family began having home church each and every Sunday. Of course she took great joy in leading the singing.

Survivors include: her husband Boyd Reece; daughters Pam Reece, Linda Williams and husband Don; grandchildren Julie Byrne, Alex Byrne and wife Sherrill; Robin Poole and husband David; great-grandchildren Alyssa Byrne, Kayla Byrne, Mason Wallace, Caiden Reece, Kambel Reece and Carter Poole; son-in-law Tommy Byrne; daughter-in-law Tonya Reece; and her special adopted daughter Rue Landon.
