James Francis, son of James M. and Mary Jane Buckallew, was born in Sullivan County, Missouri on January the 12, 1865, and departed this life at his residence in Unionville, Missouri, on December 23, 1945, being at the time of his death 80 years, 11 months and 11 days.
He was one of a family of 21 children, and only three sisters and two brothers survive him.
On October 26, 1895 he was united in marriage to Permilia Ann Johnson, who preceded him in death 8 years ago. To this union seven children were born: Charles, Gertie Hymes, Rosa and Ida all of Unionville; Thomas and Dollie Farmer of Yakima, Wash. and James Edwin of Unionville. He is survived by eleven grand children and one great grandson; and three sisters and two brothers: Fannie Bailey, Centerville, Ia.; Mary Childers, Unionville; Carl Buckallew, Green City; Delia Vermilion; Des Moines, Ia., and Alex Buckallew, Trenton, Mo. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Buckallew was a kindly man, a lover of his home and devoted to his family.
Funeral services conducted Dec. 24th at the Husted Funeral Home at 2 o'clock by Chas. Fowler. Internment at the Unionville Cemetery.
