PETER "PARKS" CLAYPOOL
April 19, 1870 ~ October 3, 1937

Funeral services for P. P. Claypool, who died Sunday at his home in Smithville, were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the Baptist church there, Rev. Coy Chatham officiating. Funeral arrangements were under direction of Coffey Funeral Home and burial was in the Smithville cemetery.

Mr. Claypool was born at North Buffalo, Pennsylvania, April 19, 1871. He came here 23 years ago and operated one of the first lumber mills in this section. At the time of his death he operated a hotel at Smithville. He had been in failing health the past year and death was caused from a heart attack. He had been a member of the Baptist church for 30 years and was one of the pioneer residents of his community.

He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Martha Jean Nutt of Smithville; three brothers, Hodge Claypool, Worthington, Pa.; Roland B. and Arbie A. Claypool of North Buffalo, Pa.; two sisters, Mrs. Olive Clay, North Buffalo, Pa., and Mrs. Bertha Bonner of Chino, California.
