"A little child of Edd Northrup of East Worcester, was killed by the "flyer" last Saturday evening at the farm crossing near his grandfather's residence, between this town and E. Worcester. The child, aged 19 months, was playing with the dog and had wandered to the crossing about 40 rods from the house. When the "flyer" struck it, the little one was crouched between the rails. The faithful dog in trying to pull the child from the track barely escaped destruction. The child's head was crushed. Funeral services were held Tuesday."
