Ella Leta Carrico died Saturday, June 5, at Park Manor Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. She was 79 at the time of her death.

Mrs. Carrico was born July 20, 1902, in Harrison County Mo., to the late James Thomas and Alice Viola Newton Hamilton. She moved, with her family to Nebraska in 1909. She married Alva Carrico at Bloomington, Neb., on Feb. 7, 1920. The couple resided in Nebraska until 1955, when they moved to Rawlins, where they operated the Sunnyside Grocery until 1978.

Survivors include one daughter, Irene Olsen of Laramie; two sons, Garld Wane of North Platte, Neb., and Kenneth Eugene, of Rawlins; one brother, Frank Hamilton of Franklin, Neb.; 10 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alva; one daughter, Maxine Markwardt; two sisters and nine brothers.

Funeral services will be held at Shriner Mortuary on Wednesday, June 9, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Elmer Zamzow of United Presbyterian Church officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at Shriner Mortuary.

Remains will lie in state at the Mortuary Chapel until 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Burial will be in the Rawlins Cemetery with Shriner Mortuary in charge of all arrangements.
