MONTFORT - Cleo L. (Bud) Bowers, age 85, of Montfort died on Sunday, March 3, 1985 at the Facility, Dodgeville. He was born on August 8, 1899 in Wingville, township, Grant County. His parents were William and Rose (Longmeler) Bowers. Cleo was united In marriage on June 18, 1930 in Montfort to the former Clara Bisbach. She preceded him in death on September 18,1983. He worked as a patrolman for Wingville township from 1920 until 1946. He then operated Bower's Shell Service Station until his retirement In 1969. He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. William (Eileen) Heun of Dodgevllle and Mrs. Arthur (Patricia) Benisch of Windsor; a son, Ronald of Verona; a brother, Buford;(Buster) of Rural Montfort; nine grandchildren; five, greatgrandchildren.

Besides his parents and Wife, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeffrey Bowers; four brothers, Jesse, Wlllard, Clinton, and Delbert in infancy; a sister, Mrs. Vlrgle Blsbach.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.
