Charles Albertus and his wife erected a large three story structure directly across from the school property between Price and Pearl Streets.
Known today as the "Albertus" building it was built entirely by Charles and his wife Crystal, who worked three years to complete it. It represents one of the finest examples of the German architecture of the day, not only in Guttenberg, but the entire area.
