Jack E Cooper, 75, of Mount Pleasant died Sunday, Feb 20, 2005 in Mount Pleasant.
Services will be held at 2 pm Thursday, Feb 24, at Bates-Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David McCain and Bryce Cooper officiating. Interment will be in the Nevills Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Bates-Cooper Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Gary Mac Bragg, Jimmy Duncan, Jerry Freeman, Joe Ferrell, Wayne Pickrell and Gene Campbell. Honorary pallbearers are Clovis Williams, Weldon Miller, Larry Wisener, Joe Irvin Gentry, Danny Wilson and Doyce Phillips.
Mr Cooper was born on Oct 18, 1929, in Fresno, CA, the son of John Edward Cooper and Lina Cooper. He was a retired Master Chief in the US Navy. He was a member of North Jefferson Church of Christ and a member of the VFW.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred N "Narci" Cooper of Mount Pleasant; son, Steve Cooper of San Diego, CA; granddaughter, Lauren Cooper of San Diego, CA; daughter-in-law, Margie Cooper of San Diego, CA; brother and sister-in-law, Perry and Josephine Cooper of Mount Pleasant; brother, Darrell Cooper of Mount Pleasant, sister, Pat Dillard of Mount Pleasant, four brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Eddie and Lila Akridge, Ruby and Jack Jacob, Jimmie and Bob Cates and Gracie and Cecil Davis.
He was preceded in death by his father John Edward Cooper; his mother, Lina Cooper Rhea; son, Greg Cooper; and brother, Dale Cooper.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the North Jefferson Church of Christ building fund.
