Sister Angelita Knievel, age 96, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian
Charity, died on Thursday morning, Sept. 9, 2010, at Holy Family Convent,
Manitowoc.
She was born on May 30, 1914, in West Point, Nebraska, daughter of the late
Bernard and Helen (Meister) Knievel. She entered the Convent in 1928 and
professed her vows in 1932. Sister Angelita earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree
from St. Norbert College, De Pere and a Master of Arts Degree from Creighton
University, Omaha, Neb. Sister Angelita served as a teacher at St. Mary,
Kaukauna, St. Paul and St. Boniface Manitowoc, Xavier High School, Appleton,
Catholic Memorial High School, Waukesha, Wis.; St. Francis de Sales, Manistique,
Mich.; St. Nicholas, Zanesville, Ohio; St. John, Wellsburg, West Virginia, and
St. Willibrord, Chicago, Ill. She served as Principal at Central Catholic High
School, West Point, Neb., and Guidance Counselor at Roncalli High School,
Manitowoc. After retiring from the teaching profession, she performed various
services at St. Joseph Retirement Community, West Point, Neb., and Holy Family
Convent, Manitowoc. Since 2003, she had been a resident of St. Rita Health Center
at the Motherhouse. She is a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian
Charity.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 13, 2010, at Holy Family
Convent Chapel, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be
the Rev. Samuel D. Jadin, O.Praem., with burial at Holy Family Convent Cemetery,
Manitowoc.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc,
from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m.
at Holy Family Convent Chapel.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral
arrangements.
