Mrs. Elizabeth Schaupdach passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. August Hamann, on Wednesday, August 4, at the age of 82 years, 6 months and 24 days, death resulting from old age and paralysis of the heart. Mrs. Shaupdach, nee Koenig, was born on January 10, 1838, in Bavaria, Germany, and was married to Christian Schaupdauch in 1866(?). They came to Grand Island in 1881, where they lived on a farm three miles west of the city until 1907, when Mr. Schaupdach died. For the past year the deceased had been failing in health.
She leaves to mourn her loss a daughter, Mrs. Hamann, and a son, John Schaupdach; also fifteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held from the Hamann home, three miles north of Grand Island on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. G. H. Michelmann conducting the service. Interment will be made in the Grand Island cemetery.
