Doris Peale, age 73, passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2000, in her home of natural causes.

She was born January 18, 1927, the daughter of Hettie and Walker Shuffield.

Doris was a member of Hyde Park Baptist Church. She was retired from The American Bank and was currently working at Dillard's of Austin. Doris enjoyed traveling and gardening. She was an active volunteer in the Austin community.
.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Archie Shuffield and her sister, Myra Jean Pezel.
.
She is survived by her husband, William F. Peale Jr., of Austin; a daughter, Londa May, of The Woodlands; a son, Warren Sanders and his wife, Debbie, of Austin; her twin sister, Dotty Kirk and her husband, Howell, of Manor; a brother, Elvin Shuffield, of Austin; her grandchildren, Susan Feathers, of Japan, Chad Sanders, of Austin, John May, of Houston, Robin Sanders, of Austin and Lauren May, of The Woodlands; and great-grandchildren, Breana May and Kylie Sanders. Other survivors include nephews, nieces and cousins from the Shuffield, Kirk and Pezel families.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 22, 2000, at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at 4:00 p.m. at Mission Park Cemetery in San Antonio, in the Peale family plot.
