Elvin Samuel Black, 76, of 132 Highland Park Circle, Cordova, died Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at his residence.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Cordova, with the Rev. Brian Self officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was born Sept. 27, 1936, in Hilda, the son of the late Samuel Black and the late Annie Black-Black. He served in the National Guard and was retired from Gressette Pest
Control after 32 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Wright Black of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, Rickey Black and Cheryl, and Randy Black and Teresa, all of Cordova, and
Rodney black and Lily of Lexington; four grandchildren, Tyler Black, Jeannie Chavis, Destiny Black and Mary Black; and three great-grandchildren.
Thompson Funeral Home Inc. in Orangeburg is in charge of arrangements.
