Knife Death Confirmed by Autopsy
Michael H. Rondeau, 24, W 1832 1/2 Broadway, died of a single stab wound to the chest, an autopsy disclosed yesterday.
Rondeau's body, found by passersby at 2:45 Sunday morning, was lying in a pool of blood on the sidewalk in front of a residence at W 1730 Pacific, Police Lt. Gene D. Mc Gougan said. No weapon was found near the body.
McGougan and Detective Robert G. Bailor arrested a suspect, identified as John D. Randolph Sr., 51, W 1710 Pacific, Sunday afternoon in a room at the Carlyle Hotel, S 206 Post. Randolph was booked into the County-City Jail on a charge of first-degree murder and is being held without bond.
A knife was recovered but police declined to say where it was found.

Funeral services for Michael H. Rondeau, 24, W 1832 Broadway, will be at 11 a.m. today at Salem Lutheran Church.
The Rev. Paul A. Chell will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
Mr. Rondeau was stabbed to death Sunday.
A lifetime resident of Spokane, he was an artist and a member of Salem Lutheran Church.
He was a 1972 graduate of Ferris High School where he was a member of Young Democrats and DECA.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; one daughter, Ayla; one brother, Charles Rondeau Jr.; four sisters, Charlene McCallum, Diana Mary Bachman, Hazel Ann Rondeau and Cynthia Faye Rondeau, and his mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Adam, all of Spokane.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Rondeau.
