MARION, S.C. - Mrs. Loretta Brown Joye, 79, died Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Marion Regional Hospital after an illness.

Mrs. Joye was born January 21, 1933 in Marion County, a daughter of the late John French Brown, Sr. and the late Florence Smith Brown. She was a homemaker and a member of Little Bethel Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday School teacher and a member of the WMU.

Surviving Mrs. Joye are: 4 Sons: Mitchell Joye of Marion, Ray Joye of Marion, Linwood Joye of Coosada, Ala. And Russell Joye of Spartanburg; 7 Grandchildren; 14 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandchild; and 3 Sisters: Jeanette Rogers, Mattie Lou Stroud and Flora Jean Jackson, all of Mullins.

Mrs. Joye was predeceased by her husband, M. L. Joye; a son, Charles Brown; 4 sisters, Margaret McCumber, Evelyn Fox, Amelia Coleman and Della Reese Brown; and a brother, John F. Brown, Jr.

Graveside services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 2, at Little Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Scott Collins officiating. The services will be directed by Smith-Collins Funeral Home of Marion.
