Henry is the first husband of Jennie Mae Enlow.

Henry Bishop Bascom was the son of John Ellis Bascom and Osee T. Chinn Bascom. He grew up in Lexington, Missouri and became business manager of the Lexington Register, a Lexington Newspaper, Sam Keller, Editor, before moving to Sedalia, Mo.

Henry B. Bascom and Jennie Mae Enlow were married 29 Nov 1904 in the home of Mr. & Mrs. Henry Owens, Hannibal, Missouri by Rev. Cole, Minister of the 5th Street Baptist Church of Hannibal. Jennie was in Nurses' Training at this time and gave up her schooling to move to Sedalia with her new husband. Henry was engaged in the printing business for the Sedalia Democrat, and Jennie continued private nursing.

After only 13 years together, Henry B. Bascom died. Buried in Crown Hill Cemetery, Sedalia, Missouri. I visited this cemetery in 2013 and found his stone. Still standing and readable. Quite a ways from his son, Enlow's grave who died 3 years later. This is a huge cemetery in Sedalia but they have an office and the people there are very helpful in locating graves. No way would we have ever found Henry Bascom and Enlow Bascom without a cemetery guide.
