Prominent Mason and Retired Business Man Victim of Pneumonia
William Wells Vaughan, well known in Masonic circles and a resident of Washington since 1859, died suddenly at his residence, 625 East Capitol Street, Monday morning, following an attach of pneumonia. He was sixty-four years old. Funeral services are being held at the residence this afternoon.
Mr. Vaughan was engaged in the stained-glass business for more than twenty years and made many of the beautiful windows in local churches. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, February 24, 1852. His father opened the stained-glass business to which he later succeeded, it being the first of its kind in Washington.
Mr. Vaughan retired from active business about two years ago. He was a member of New Jerusalem Lodge, F.A.A.M. and Columbia Chapter. He is survived by his wife, who before her marriage was Miss Alice Bailey.
