JOSEPH B. PETERSON DIES SUNDAY MORNING
Was for 37 years a Resident of Sioux Falls--Funeral Tomorrow Afternoon.
Joseph Blake Peterson, for 37 years a resident of Sioux Falls and one of her most highly respected citizens, died at 2:30 o'clock Sunday morning, after a short but acute illness. With Mr. Peterson during his last days were his wife, his son Harry and his daughters Misses Ruth and Elsa.
Mr. Peterson was born in Trenton, Ontario, Canada on December 14, 1848 and was consequently sixty-seven years of age at the time of his death. He came to Sioux Falls in November 1878, and engaged in business with his brother, George R. Peterson, who died a few years ago in California. For many years they were engaged in the grain business until a few years ago when they retired.
Mr. Peterson has been for many years a highly respected and useful citizen. In the last primaries he was urged to become a candidate for the county commissioner but declined on account of his health. Though quiet quiet and retiring, he was a forceful man and won the deep respect of all who knew him. The funeral will take place at 3 p. m. from the house at 722 West Ninth street.
