JOHN S. THOMPSON
Friend, Neb.- John S. Thompson, one of the early settlers of Saline county, was buried here. He was a veteran of the civil war and was one of the few members of William T. Sherman Post No. 130, G. A. R., of this city. He died at Ipava, Ill., where he had gone to visit relatives. His home was with his son E. E. Thompson, on a farm southeast of this city.
