Louis E. Alberthal, 85, former area resident.

Walla Walla - Louis E. Alberthal, a former resident of Riggins and Lewiston, died of causes related to age Monday at Regency Care Center in Walla Walla. He was 85.
He was born Aug. 5, 1907, at Deer Park, Wash., to Gustave B. and Nancy C. Corbett Alberthal. He grew up and attended schools at Deer Park, graduating from high school there. After high school he joined the military, serving as a Seabee in Guam during World War II. He then moved to Seattle, where he worked as an electrician and was a member of the Electricians' Union No. 46.
He married Charlotte McGonigle June 27, 1960, at Seattle.
He retired in 1969, and the couple later moved to Riggins, where they lived for 10 years until moving to Lewiston. The couple lived at Lewiston until May of this year, when they moved to Walla Walla. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife of Walla Walla, and two brothers, Milton Alberthal of Snohomish, Wash., and Ralph Alberthal of Lewiston. Two daughters and three sisters died previously.
A memorial service was held Thursday in Walla Walla, and burial took place at Lewis-Clark Memorial Gardens in Lewiston. The family suggests memorials be given to the Christian Aid Center in Walla Walla, c/o Herring Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder St., Walla Walla, Wash., 99362
