HARLINGEN - Dr. Ralph Eugene Hamme, M.D., born July 13, 1912, in Dover, Pa., died Sunday, May 26, 2002, in Harlingen, Texas.

He practiced general medicine in Edinburg, Texas, from August 1936 until his retirement on May 30, 1980. He was a graduate of Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, in 1932 and the University of Texas Medical School at Galveston in 1936.

Dr. Hamme is survived by two daughters, Karen Fair of Kerrville and Gail Kay of Austin; grandchildren, Kimberly Schrout of San Antonio, Scott and Jef Fair of Kerrville; and great-grandchildren, Taylor and Haley Fair of Kerrville.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 1 at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Edinburg, followed by a memorial service at 3 p.m. at Golden Palms Retirement Center in Harlingen.
