Donald Raymond Gaither, (Papa) left this world at the age of 81 to begin his new journey with our Heavenly Father. He passed away on September 29, 2012. Don was born April 26, 1931 in Hinton, Missouri to two loving parents, Charles and Lyle Gaither. Don joined the Army in 1954 and served until 1956. In 1957 Don met the love of his life, Barbara Sellers, and they married February 9, 1957 in Stigler, Oklahoma. Don and Barbara started their life together in Morris, Oklahoma. Don worked for his family's coal mining company, as personnel director for Ball Brothers and Kelco, and retired from John Zink Company as Vice President of the HVAC division. In his retirement he enjoyed accounting and computer programming.

Don was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Morris where he served as Pastor. He dedicated his life to living under God's direction and to preaching and teaching God's Word. He was active in the community serving as Mayor of Morris for 3 terms, served on the Morris Public Schools Board for multiple terms, served on multiple community and civic organizations. He loved going to church, reading, camping (or at least looking for RV's to buy), Saturday morning breakfast at Steak and Egg, and spending time with family and friends. Don was a loving influence to his family, church family and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Gaither will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at the Trinity Baptist Church in Morris, Oklahoma. Elder Greg McGowan will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Morris Cemetery under the direction of Gary Kelley's Add'Vantage Funeral Service of Tulsa, Oklahoma. www.garykelleyfunerals.com

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary Anderton, Ethel Oldham, Gladys Hoskins; brothers, Clinton Gaither, Clifford Gaither, Harold Gaither and Junior Gaither; and son, Donald Bruce Gaither.
