Mamie Gilbert Muse, 93, of Fort Valley Highway, Perry, died Sunday, Dec. 14, 1997, in Jeffersonville. Funeral services will be today at Perry United Methodist Church. The Rev. William R. Key and Marcus Tripp will officiate. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Perry.
Mrs. Muse a native of Houston County, was the daughter of the late N.W.H. and Mamie Edwards Gilbert. She was the owner of Dogwoods Nursery for 40 years. She was a member of the American Camellia Society, the Perry Garden Club, the Sorosis Club, the Gen. Daniel Stewart Chapter of the American Revolution, the Susannah Wesley Sunday School Class and the Perry United Methodist church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paschal Muse.
Survivors include her daughter [named] of Jeffersonville; her son [named] of Perry; her brothers, Houser B. Gilbert and R. Woodrow Gilbert of Elko; her sister, Sara Tabor of Perry; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Perry United Methodist Church or The American Camellia Society in Marshallville.
