GRAHAM - Mr. John Willis "Bunk" Stout, 75, of N.C. 87 South, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012 at 7:47 p.m. at his residence.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all. A member of the Graham Wesleyan Church, he was retired from A.O. Smith manufacturing, and a past volunteer fireman with Station 11, Eli Whitney Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife, Hilda Cozart "Grey" Stout, of the home; daughters, Shirley Whitesell and husband Ron of Snow Camp, Greta Blalock and husband Randall of Elon and Amy Harvell and husband Howard of Gibsonville; grandchildren, Caleb Whitesell, Jacob Whitesell, Blake Harvell, Meaghan Harvell and Hannah Blalock; brothers, Steve Stout and wife Carolyn of Burlington and Marvin Stout and wife Susan of Graham; sisters, Adelle Swaney, Larena Thompson and Elaine Stickland and husband Danny, all of Graham, and Sue Williams of Snow Camp; and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis Hampton and Nannie Rickman Stout; and sisters, Melissa Strickland and Bonnie Walker.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, 2012 at McClure Funeral Home in Graham and at other times at the residence.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012 at the Graham Wesleyan Church, Graham, N.C., by the Rev. Wayne Howard, the Rev. Kenneth Culbertson and the Rev. Joe Neyman. Burial will be in the Cedar Cliff United Methodist Church cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
