John Newby Meets Accidental Death
John Newby, son of Lewis and Catherine Newby, was born October 8, 1866, in Lee County, Iowa and passed away June 5, 1924 at Pascagonia, Miss.
He came to Nebraska with his parents in 1878, residing here until 1906, when he went south; remaining there until death claimed him.
His mother preceded him in death in 1911.
He leaves to mourn his loss, a father, four brothers and one sister; Will Newby of Crete, Nebr., Frank Newby of Alexandria, Nebr., Arthur and Fred New by of Tobias, Nebr., and Mrs. N. M. Buchtel of Clay Center, Nebr., besides a host of other relatives and friends. Those who knew him best loved him most.
The body arrived here Tuesday and funeral services were conducted in the Methodist church by Rev. F. F. Bock Wednesday afternoon and interment made in the Tobias Cemetery.
