DANIEL THOMAS DIES IN DENVER FRIDAY; HAD SLOPE KIN
Daniel Stephen THOMAS, a resident of Mesa county for 32 years, died in Denver Friday. He had been in Denver for nearly two months to receive medical treatment.
Mr. THOMAS, an active member of the Assembly of God church, was well known here. For several years he was engaged in ranching, and he was later a motorman on the street car and interurban system which was abandoned several years ago.
He was born Feb. 23, 1874, in Missouri, later moving to Marysville, Kan., and thence to Grand Junction. He married here in 1914 and lived for many years at his home on Orchard avenue.
Body of the deceased will be sent here for funeral services, to be arranged after word is received from survivors.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emma THOMAS; four daughters, Mrs. Ruth REED, Fruita; Mrs. Reba LISCHKE, Montrose; Mrs. Margaret WHITE, San Diego, Calif., and Mrs. George RYAN, Park City, Utah; and eight grandchildren.
Surviving brothers and sisters include: Miss Nannie THOMAS, Rifle; Mrs. Charles KIRKWOOD, Marysville, Kan.; Mrs. Florence CRANE, Wathena, Kan.; A. E. THOMAS, Norman, Okla., and B. L. THOMAS, Hastings, Neb. Surviving stepdaughters and stepsons are: Mrs. Archie BLISS, 1233 Main street; Mrs. W. J. DOBY, Pomona; Mrs. Arie VANDERSTOEP, Grange City, Iowa; Miss Fern SMITH, Orange City, Iowa; Mrs. George FLIKKEMA, Philadelphia, Pa.; Roy SMITH, Clearfield, Utah; and John PORTER, Ogden, Utah.
