He was born in Doddridge County, a son of the late Silas L. and Lillie Hill Davis. He graduated from Doddridge County High School and Mountain State College, was retired from Borg-Warner Chemical Company and had worked at Knickerbocker Stamping Company. He was a member of St. John’s United Church, Vienna.
Berlin loved spending time with his family. He was an ardent Mountaineer fan and enjoyed singing, playing the guitar and gardening.
He is survived by four children, the Rev. Sharon Rose Halderman and her husband, the Rev. John, of Boiling Springs, Pa., Sandra Kay Lemming and husband, David, of Parkersburg, Eric Dee Davis and his wife, Mari, of Houston, Texas and David K. Davis and his wife, Aidy, of Belleville, W.Va.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister Violet M. Davidson of Middlebourne, W.Va.; several nieces, nephew, friends and neighbors; and his cat Mr. Bee.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Helen Wakefield Davis; one infant son; two sisters; and 3 brothers.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, with his son-in-law, the Rev. John Halderman officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
