Funeral Rites for Mrs. Minnie Ashley Sunday
Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Ashley, who died on Friday afternoon at 1:10 o'clock at her home In Garber, was held at the home, Rev. A. Hahn, of St. John's Lutheran church of Anchor, officiated.
The diseased suffered a stroke on Sept. 18, 1932, which confined her to her bed. On Sept. 19 she suffered the second stroke, which was fatal.
Minnie Schaefer Ashley was born in Grandville, Jan. 2, 1860. She was married to Ellis D. Ashley, Jan. 5, 1886, at Grandville, and following the marriage they moved to Sibley where they settled on the Laurin N. Ashley estate, where they lived until 1910, when Mr. Ashley passed away. Following his death Mrs. Ashley moved to Garber where she lived until her death.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Lizzie Nicewander, and four sons, Joe, county surveyor at Paxton; Amos, who is farming near Sibley; Harlan, of Sibley, and Loren, of Shellmound, Tenn. There is one brother, J. V. Schaefer, of Evanston.
