Son of immigrant couple Magdalene and John Kline, buried in ILL Christian County Traylor Anderson Cemetery NW of Palmer, ILL. Married widow Margaret Fry Longshore on Oct. 23, 1853 in Circleville, Pickaway County, Ohio. They moved first to Jersey County, ILL and then to Christian County, ILL. They had at least 3 daughters and 2 sons. After the death of his wife in 1896, he lived with his never-married son George, and after the 1899 death of his daughter Elizabeth's husband James Lloyd, she joined them until George's death in 1902. Then he lived with his daughter Laura Etta and her husband Jacob Rathgeber and their family. The funeral visitation was at their home and services were at the cemetery.
